Go onto Google Search Console, SEMrush or your keyword tracking tool.

Find keywords you are ranking for on Google that are already page 1 or 2.

Choose 1-5 keywords (ideally relevant) that you want to push to start with.

If you can’t decide, choose those with the highest intent (higher traffic does not always = more conversions).

Run a campaign on these keywords by 👇🏽

Checking out the competitions on-page SEO efforts, Brian Dean’s Skyscaper technique is perfect for this. Basically audit what competitors are doing well in terms of ‘on-page SEO’ and then implement the positives onto your website pages as well.

A common limitation we see is clients don’t have enough content on the page which Google and users both favour. You can add useful content onto the page and if you are worried about ‘branding’ or wanting the page to look a specific way just add it to the bottom of the page (because the further down you go the less people scroll) but it will still benefit the sites SEO.

Whilst actioning this do a technical audit on the target pages and the whole website to look for any quick wins like broken links pointing to the target page, technical errors on the page itself and sitemap / crawl-ability issues. Get these fixed ASAP (you can use people on Linkedin / Fiverrr / Upwork).

Then create content around the target keywords for your own blog and link to your target pages (where relevant). The more of this you can do the better.

Then start to build external links to your target pages, if you can get keyword rich links it will have more of an impact (guest blogging is great for this despite what Google says – this strategy still works well).

Secure guest-blogs with other websites by offering them free content, blog exchanges and anything else they might find useful.
