Local SEO
Ranking three miles from your own front door is a different game to ranking nationally. Proximity, your Google Business Profile and the consistency of your details across the web often matter more than the authority of your domain. Most local campaigns underperform for two very ordinary reasons: nobody owns the profile properly, and nobody counts the phone calls it produces. We're a Cambridge digital marketing agency, so local search isn't a sideline for us. It's how our own phone rings.

Real client results
Every campaign is judged on one number:
The revenue it puts in your account

What local visibility looked like for one client
Google Business Profile, location pages worth reading and citation clean-up, judged on calls and enquiries from the areas you actually serve.
Proximity you cannot change
Distance from the searcher is a real ranking factor you can't control, so we work hard on the ones you can.
One page per place, honestly
A location page earns its place by saying something true about the area, not by swapping in a town name.
Calls counted, not guessed
Local search produces phone enquiries. Untracked, the channel looks weaker than it is and gets cut. We count the calls.
Strategic Momentum
Find out what your local search is actually bringing in
- Google Business Profile: claimed, categorised deliberately and kept current, because it decides the map pack more than your website does.
- Location pages that say something true about the area, rather than the same page with the town name swapped.
- Citations and directory listings audited so your name, address and phone number match everywhere Google looks.

FAQ
The questions you actually want answered
How is local SEO different to ordinary SEO?
Proximity, your Google Business Profile and the consistency of your business details carry far more weight, and the map pack is a separate result to the blue links beneath it. A site can rank nationally and still be nearly invisible three miles from its own front door. We've seen it plenty of times, and it's fixable.
How quickly does the map pack move?
Profile fixes and category changes can show within weeks, which is faster than most organic work. Competitive city centres take longer, and proximity means some searches will never favour you whatever we do. We'll tell you which ones those are rather than bill you for chasing them.
Do we need a page for every town we serve?
Only where you can say something true about the place. A page per town with the name swapped is a doorway page and Google treats it as one. We'd rather build six pages that earn their keep than sixty that put your whole site at risk.
Do reviews really affect rankings?
Volume, recency and wording all feed in, so yes. We build the asking into your process rather than buying anything. Bought reviews get removed, OR WORSE they can cost you the profile entirely, which is an expensive way to save a fortnight. We practise what we preach here: every review we have is real.
Can you fix inconsistent listings across directories?
Yes, and it's usually one of the cheapest wins available. Mismatched addresses, old phone numbers and half-abandoned directory entries all dilute the signal, so we audit what's out there and fix it. Not glamorous, just effective.
Client reviews
Every review we have is five stars. Here's why.
