Commercial Photography in St Ives
A St Ives estate agent's listings and a marina cafe's social feed need images planned against a specific use, not a mood board full of pictures nobody can crop. Independent retail, and hospitality and riverside leisure, are two of the sectors we see most often here. We work from Hills Road in Cambridge, about twenty five minutes away, and go through your website templates and ad formats before a shoot. That way the shot list already knows which frame needs headline space and which needs to survive a square crop for social.

About us
Clickscope is a small photography team based in Cambridge, about twenty five minutes from St Ives. We work with local estate agents, trades businesses and riverside hospitality operators, shooting images to a brief. We're a Cambridge digital marketing agency about 25 minutes away, close enough that photography decisions get made in person, not over email chains.
Our MISSION
Plan the shot list before the shoot, not after
We go through your website, your ad formats and your printed material before booking a shoot, so every frame in the list already has a required composition attached. That's how a St Ives business ends up with a gallery it uses for years rather than a folder opened twice.

Judged on where the image lands
Every shoot is built around the exact listing, advert or page the picture will live on, not a vague notion of what looks appealing.
How we run commercial photography for St Ives businesses
01 / How we work
Shot for where it lands
Cut out product shots for listings, lifestyle images for ads, and detail shots for the questions your customers keep asking, all planned before the shoot rather than worked out afterwards.

A minimum image count, agreed upfront
The shot list sets a minimum number of finished images per day, agreed upfront, rather than a vague figure you can't plan against.

Files are yours, backed up and organised
Delivery takes the form of an organised gallery, high resolution masters and web optimised versions both included, backed up and yours with full usage rights.
Client Results
One ecommerce client took £50,000 of Google Ads spend to £1.52 million in online sales. For a marina cafe or a St Ives shop, the photo does the selling well before anyone reads the caption. Photography alone wouldn't explain that whole result, but a weak image gallery would have kept it far short.

FAQ
The questions you actually want answered
Do you shoot on site in St Ives, or in a studio?
Usually on your premises or the riverside itself, about twenty five minutes from our Cambridge office. We use hired studio space for product work needing controlled lighting, and come to you for anything where context matters more.
How is photography priced for a St Ives shoot?
You're quoted a day or half day rate, with editing and full usage rights included in that figure from the outset. Studio hire, props or travel beyond the region are the only extras, costed separately and only where genuinely needed.
Do we have to sign up to a contract for the photography?
No. Each shoot in St Ives stands alone as a project, and businesses wanting images refreshed regularly through the seasons get ongoing support that rolls monthly with 30 days' notice.
What can we use the finished photos for?
Full commercial rights come with the shoot, in perpetuity and covering web, print, advertising and social, with no renewal charge. All we keep is the right to include the images in our own portfolio.
Our St Ives competitors mostly use their own phone photos. Does proper photography actually matter here?
Often, yes. Where most local listings use a quick phone snap, a properly shot gallery is one of the cheapest ways to look more established than the business next door.
Which St Ives sectors do you photograph most?
Independent retail, hospitality and riverside leisure, and estate agency are sectors we shoot for regularly here. Premises photography for trades and construction businesses follows the same planning as any other site.
Do you only photograph St Ives businesses?
No, being based in Cambridge doesn't limit us. From Hills Road we also travel to shoot for clients in Ely, Newmarket and further into Suffolk. Base location shapes the planning, not the client list.
Would you also take on designing the site the images go onto?
Yes. Because web design and development are in-house here too, listing pages needing attention can be fixed at the same time as the shoot itself.
What does the opening 90 days of a photography project involve?
We turn your templates and ad formats into a shot list, then agree access and timing for the shoot. A selection gallery lands one to two weeks later so you can pick favourites before final editing.
What's the yardstick for whether the photography delivers results?
The measure is simple: do the images get used. That's why the shot list starts from your real templates, and for product and ecommerce work we'd also track conversion against the wider marketing.
St Ives markets to day visitors and to a growing resident commuter population. Does photography need to work for both?
Yes, and it usually needs different images for each. Riverside and market photography sells a day out, while premises and team photography needs to reassure a resident who researched you on a phone during their commute.
