Google Ads Management for Cambridge Businesses
Cambridge is one of the most contested markets we work in, with well over a hundred competitor pages already bidding for local search terms. That pushes click costs up fast for any account with a loose negative keyword list. We work from Hills Road and fix conversion tracking and value assignment first, so the bidding algorithm is trained on real revenue rather than page views and thank you pages counted three times.

About us
Clickscope is a small Google Ads team on Hills Road that Cambridge businesses use to fix inherited accounts and manage Search, Shopping and Performance Max on profit per pound. And because we're a digital marketing agency based right here in Cambridge, you can be sat in our Hills Road office talking Google Ads within the week.
Our MISSION
Fix the tracking, then decide what deserves more budget
We spend the first fortnight of any new Cambridge account on conversion tracking and value assignment, because a market with well over a hundred competitor pages punishes wasted spend faster than most. After that, budgets get reviewed regularly rather than set once.

Judged on profit per pound, not clicks
Each change to the budget is tested against one question: what will the next pound actually return, weighed against margin wherever you can share the figures.
How we run Google Ads for Cambridge businesses
01 / How we work
Conversions that mean something
Before any structural changes to the account, we strip out page views, button clicks and thank you pages counted three times over. That way the algorithm trains on real signal.

Budgets revisited, not set once
Budgets are reviewed regularly so campaigns that earn aren't capped while ones that don't keep running all day in a market this competitive.

The account stays in your name
Google Ads, Merchant Centre and Analytics all remain in your name, and if you ever leave, access transfers within the week with nothing deleted.
Client Results
93.2% of the PPC accounts we've taken over have gone on to improve on the metric that client valued most. It's an average drawn from many businesses, not a guarantee for yours, and it includes the accounts we didn't manage to improve.

FAQ
The questions you actually want answered
Is there a Cambridge office we can visit to review the account?
Yes, we're at 9 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1GE, a short walk from the station and roughly ten minutes from the Biomedical Campus. We're happy to review the account there, or visit your offices instead.
What do you charge to manage a Google Ads account?
You pay a flat monthly fee, agreed before work begins and scaled to the campaigns, markets and feeds involved. We avoid a percentage of spend because it would push us to grow your budget rather than your profit.
What notice do we need to give to stop the Google Ads management?
The notice period is 30 days, rolling monthly, with no minimum term or exit fee. Ask to leave and you'll have access back within a week, along with a written handover of what was built and why.
Is a guaranteed cost per lead something you can offer?
No, we can't promise a number. We commit to fixing conversion tracking first, so cost per lead reflects reality. Budgets are then reviewed regularly, so strong campaigns aren't capped while weak ones keep running.
This is one of the most contested search markets you cover. Is it worth advertising here at all?
Usually, yes, but it raises the cost of getting the basics wrong. A tight negative keyword list and accurate conversion values matter more in a market with well over a hundred competitor pages than almost anywhere else on our patch.
Which Cambridge sectors do you manage Google Ads for?
Technology and deep tech, biotech and life sciences, and estate agency are sectors we manage accounts for here, where Performance Max eating brand traffic is a particularly common inherited fault.
Do you only manage Google Ads for Cambridge businesses?
Not at all. Our office is at 9 Hills Road in Cambridge, but we also run accounts for clients across Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, Haverhill, Royston and Waterbeach among them. Being based here shapes how we work, not who we'll work with.
Do you also handle fixes to the landing pages the campaigns send traffic to?
Yes. Since web design and development are in-house here, a page losing enquiries after the click can be fixed at the same time as the campaign.
What can we expect to happen during the first 90 days on a Google Ads account?
The opening two weeks go on conversion tracking, offline import for phone sales, and assigning value properly. After that, the account is restructured so brand, generic search and Shopping stand on their own merits.
What's your method for measuring whether the campaigns are working?
It's judged on one figure: what came back against what went out, whether that's spend, revenue or qualified leads, with failed tests listed next to the successful ones.
Cambridge has well over a hundred competitor pages fighting for the same search terms. Does that price us out?
Not necessarily. It makes wasted spend more expensive, which is precisely why the first weeks go on tracking and negative keywords rather than on raising the budget.
