Graphic Design for Newmarket Businesses
Sale week at Tattersalls, or a yearling auction, creates a short, intense spike in design demand: catalogues, signage and social graphics all at once. One in-house designer rarely has the capacity to clear that on top of everyday work. Our Hills Road team covers it as a retainer, project or overflow, briefed once and working to a due date you can plan around. That's true whether it's a stud's open day or a feed merchant's trade stand.

About us
Clickscope is a small design team on Hills Road. Newmarket racing, bloodstock and hospitality businesses use us for ad creative, print and sale materials, delivered on a rolling retainer or project by project. As a Cambridge digital marketing agency just 13 miles away, we can be at a Newmarket yard or office for a design conversation without it being an event.
Our MISSION
Clear the backlog around the calendar, then keep the creative moving
We start by finding out when design is genuinely the bottleneck for a Newmarket business, often a sale week or a season. From there we agree whether a retainer, a fixed project or overflow support fits best. Every brief lands through a single channel and comes back with a date you can plan the rest of the week around.

Judged on what the creative earns
Performance data, not personal taste, decides which ad concepts we push further, and we build on whatever the account shows is winning.
How we run graphic design for Newmarket businesses
01 / How we work
Three ways to work with us
Retainer for a constant flow of work, fixed-price projects such as sale catalogues or exhibition sets, or overflow support that slots in around your busiest weeks without taking the whole function over.

Two rounds of amends, rarely both used
Most work clears on the first round because the brief was agreed properly beforehand, and a second round is standard if it's needed.

Editable files, kept in your own storage
Every layered source file, editable vector and organised export sits in your storage, and font licence status is documented throughout.
Client Results
A Newmarket client new to paid advertising turned £25,300 of spend into £891,000 in sales. Keeping a campaign at that scale alive takes a steady stream of new ad creative, week after week. That volume is the practical reason design and media sit under one roof here.

FAQ
The questions you actually want answered
Where's your studio, and can we visit before a sale week?
We're based at 9 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1GE, about 25 minutes away via the A14 and A1303. Visit us for a briefing, or we'll come to you ahead of a sale or an event.
Which works out cheaper, a retainer or paying per project?
Where needs are genuinely occasional, per project is the cheaper choice. A retainer earns its keep once you're commissioning most weeks, through priority scheduling and not relearning your brand repeatedly.
Does taking on design work mean signing a contract?
No, nothing binds you in. Retainer, project or overflow, each arrangement is rolling monthly, and 30 days' notice ends it with nothing owed.
How many amend rounds are built into the service?
Two rounds are standard, and in practice most work clears first round because the brief was agreed upfront. A misunderstanding on our side means the extra round is free.
Design demand for us is very seasonal around the sales calendar. Can you cope with that?
Yes, and it's common in this trade. We'd rather plan overflow capacity around your busiest weeks than pretend design needs arrive evenly through the year.
Which Newmarket sectors do you design for most?
Horseracing and bloodstock, hospitality and events, and specialist retail are sectors we design for regularly here, including sale catalogues and signage timed to the calendar.
Do you only design for Newmarket businesses?
No, that's not the case. Our base is 9 Hills Road in Cambridge, but we support teams throughout Cambridgeshire, including St Neots, Royston and Huntingdon. Being Cambridge-based changes how briefs get handled, never who we work with.
Can you handle the website the designs will eventually sit on?
Yes. Web design and development sit in-house alongside graphic design, so a template built for print or a sale catalogue can be carried through to the site without starting again.
What happens across the opening 90 days of a design retainer?
Your existing brand materials get reviewed first, with any gaps flagged once we're into ad formats and print, and we agree a single briefing channel acknowledged the same day. Standard items typically take two to three working days from there.
How do you gauge whether the design is doing its job?
What the account tells us is winning decides how we scale ad creative. For print and sale materials, it comes down to whether they're used and signed off first round.
There isn't really a design agency here that understands the trade. Does that matter?
It does, in our experience. Competition in Newmarket is limited to one agency working generically, and design that uses the right terms for a sale catalogue or a stud brochure is genuinely rare here.
