Graphic Design for Cambridge Businesses
One in-house designer at a Cambridge marketing team can't turn out forty ad variants a month on top of a trade stand and a product brochure. Adding freelancers without a system just pulls the brand a little further from itself each time. From Hills Road we act as a retainer, project or overflow team, briefed once and working to a due date you can plan around. That holds whether it's a Science Park stand or a city law firm's pitch deck.

About us
Clickscope is a small design team on Hills Road that Cambridge marketing teams use for ad creative, print and sales collateral, delivered on a rolling retainer or project by project. And because we're a digital marketing agency based right here in Cambridge, you can be sat in our Hills Road office talking design within the week.
Our MISSION
Clear the backlog, then keep the creative supply moving
We start by finding out where design is genuinely the bottleneck for a Cambridge team, then agree whether a retainer, a fixed project or overflow support alongside your own designer fits best. Briefs come in through one channel, get acknowledged the same working day, and carry a due date you can plan around.

Judged on what the creative earns
What the account tells us is working decides which ad sets we scale, not which concept we personally like best.
How we run graphic design for Cambridge businesses
01 / How we work
Three ways to work with us
Retainer for a constant flow of work, fixed-price projects such as a brochure or exhibition set, or overflow support that slots in alongside an in-house designer at busy periods without taking the whole function over.

Two rounds of amends, rarely both used
Agreeing the brief upfront means most work is approved on the first round, with a second round included as standard when required.

Editable files, kept in your own storage
Source files stay layered, vectors remain editable and exports are organised, all held in your storage with font licences recorded.
Client Results
A local client with no previous paid advertising experience turned £25,300 of ad spend into £891,000 in sales. Keeping campaigns at that level working takes a constant supply of fresh creative, which is why design and media are based in the same building here.

FAQ
The questions you actually want answered
Where's your Cambridge studio, and can we visit?
Our studio is at 9 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1GE, a short walk from the station and around ten minutes from the Biomedical Campus. Come in for a briefing, or we'll happily come to you.
Should we go with a retainer or pay per project, and which one is cheaper?
Occasional needs are usually cheaper served per project. Once you're commissioning most weeks in Cambridge, a retainer wins out through priority scheduling and skipping the brand relearning each time.
Will we be locked into a contract for design work?
There's no lock-in. Whatever the arrangement, retainer, project or overflow, it's rolling monthly, and 30 days' notice clears you with nothing owed.
How many amend rounds come as standard?
There are two rounds, and most work is approved first round thanks to the upfront brief. Where a misunderstanding was ours, the extra round costs nothing.
Cambridge is full of well-funded competitors with bigger design budgets. Does that matter?
It affects volume more than quality. Outspending a venture-funded competitor on design headcount is rarely realistic, but a steady supply of genuinely different creative, tied to what is actually performing, usually beats a bigger team producing the same idea recoloured.
Which Cambridge sectors do you design for most?
Technology and deep tech, biotech and life sciences, and estate agency are sectors we design for regularly here. Overflow work for Science Park and Biomedical Campus teams follows your existing brand guidelines rather than reinventing them.
Do you only design for Cambridge businesses?
No, we're not limited to Cambridge clients. Based at 9 Hills Road, we support teams right across Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire too, including St Neots, Royston and Bishop's Stortford. Our Cambridge base shapes how briefs are handled, not who we'll take them from.
Do you build websites too, for the designs to go onto?
Yes. Our web design and development team sits alongside graphic design in-house, so a print or ad template can carry straight through to the website.
How do the first 90 days of a design retainer typically go?
We start by reviewing your existing brand guidelines and flagging gaps as we move into ad formats and templates, agreeing one briefing channel with same-day acknowledgement. From there, standard items usually turn around in two to three working days.
What's your way of measuring whether the design is working?
We measure ad creative against what the account reports as winning, doubling down on the angle that performs. Print and collateral are judged by use and whether sign-off happens first round.
Our Cambridge competitors have in-house design teams. Can overflow support really keep up?
Usually, yes, because overflow work follows your existing brand guidelines rather than building a new system, which is the part that actually takes time. Two rounds of amends and a same-day acknowledgement keep pace with most in-house teams' own turnaround.
