Branding & Identity for Newmarket's Racing and Bloodstock Trade
Owners, trainers and buyers travel into Newmarket from Ireland, France, the Gulf and the United States. Much of that audience is deciding whether Newmarket is where they place their business at all, not just which yard within it. A brand that only makes sense to a local audience is doing half the job. We're based on Hills Road, roughly 25 minutes down the A14. We start with the commercial question, who you're for and what you deliberately give up, before any design work begins.

About us
Clickscope is a small branding team on Hills Road that Newmarket studs, trainers and bloodstock businesses use for positioning and identity work built for a genuinely international buyer. As a Cambridge digital marketing agency just 13 miles away, we can be at a Newmarket yard or office for a branding conversation without it being an event.
Our MISSION
Fix the positioning, then let the identity follow
We start with who a Newmarket business is actually for, an owner in Ireland, a syndicate in the Gulf, or a local trade buyer. Trying to speak to all three at once dilutes the message. From there we build the identity and test it against a stand, a catalogue and a signature before it's committed to signage.

Measured on more than preference
Instead of judging a Newmarket rebrand on taste, we capture a baseline beforehand and monitor branded search, direct traffic and conversion on the rewritten pages afterwards.
How we run branding and identity for Newmarket businesses
01 / How we work
Positioning before polish
We work out who the brand is for and what it deliberately sacrifices before a single logo concept exists. That identity then runs through the website, a sale catalogue and a stand, because systems fail at the edges.

Trademark checked before you fall in love with it
Naming work includes trademark screening before you commit to something you can't legally use, particularly where a name needs to travel internationally.

Every source file transfers to you
At final payment, you get the vector artwork, colour values and a usable guidelines document, with font licences purchased and recorded in your name.
Client Results
For one Newmarket client, an extra £239,000 a month showed up once proper tracking was in place, a 132% year on year rise across search and paid together. That baseline existed before the identity work started, which is the only reason the number means anything. We're not crediting branding alone with that growth, but a fair baseline is the only honest way to judge it.

FAQ
The questions you actually want answered
Where's your studio?
We're based at 9 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1GE, about 25 minutes from Newmarket via the A14 and A1303. Come to us for a positioning conversation, or we'll come to you.
What does pricing look like for a branding project?
We fix the price after a scoping conversation and stage it across the project rather than charging by the hour. Ongoing design support later runs on a rolling monthly retainer, but that's entirely optional.
What kind of timeframe does a branding project take?
Six to twelve weeks is typical, depending on the research and application involved, plus naming if required. Decision-making tends to be the slowest step, so we agree sign-off early.
How many logo concepts are included?
You get one recommended, fully applied direction with the reasoning and the alternatives we explored and rejected, and why. Four finished options would just invite a decision based on taste, not fit.
Our customers are spread across Ireland, France and the Gulf. Does that change how you approach positioning?
It changes what we test the identity against. We look at how it reads to someone abroad comparing Newmarket to other bloodstock centres, not only to a buyer already familiar with the town.
Which Newmarket sectors do you brand and position most?
Horseracing and bloodstock, equine veterinary and health, and hospitality and events are sectors we position for regularly here, where an international buyer often meets the brand before meeting anyone.
Do you only work with Newmarket businesses?
No, we're based at 9 Hills Road in Cambridge but also handle branding projects across Suffolk, Bury St Edmunds and Saffron Walden among them. Our Cambridge base is about how we work, not a limit on who we take on.
Will a rebrand hurt our search visibility here?
Only where a domain or name change is handled badly. Any domain change gets planned alongside the design work, with redirects and monitoring, and a same-domain refresh carries almost no search risk.
What happens during the opening 90 days of a branding project?
Research and interviews with your customers and team, then positioning, naming if it's needed, and identity development, typically running six to twelve weeks depending on scope.
How do you prove a rebrand has worked?
We track branded search volume, direct traffic, click-through rate on the same ad creative with new messaging, and conversion rate on the rewritten pages, against a baseline set before work began.
Do you understand the racing and bloodstock trade well enough to brand for it?
We'd spend that first session understanding your side of the business from you, rather than assuming we already know the yard. Grasping how the buying cycle works matters more here than any generic branding process.
